Emberall was founded in 2014 by Sam Nelson and Kyle Corbitt. As the subject of a documentary throughout his formative years, Sam realized the outsized impact of even "ordinary" stories when told in a compelling way. He contacted Kyle and together they developed the Emberall platform, to make it easy for anyone to tell, organize, and share his or her life story.
Sam Nelson grew up in the Seattle area, and graduated from Brigham Young University (BYU) with a degree in business strategy from the Marriott School of Management. Sam and his wife Lauren had their first son, Levi, in 2016.
Kyle Corbitt is also from Seattle, and graduated from BYU with a degree in computer science. Kyle’s wife, Karla, also gave birth to their first son, Oliver, in 2016. In addition to Emberall, Kyle has worked as a software engineer at Google.
